Cultural Management

Association of Alumni of the University of the Andes – Uniandinos Art & Culture Director, February 2002 – February 2020

  • Co-created the Cultural Center of Uniandinos, originating the Cultural Direction within the Association
  • Designed and built the cultural guidelines of the Institution
  • Managed more than 2000 cultural contents establishing a permanent agenda with an average of 80-100 cultural events per year.
  • Structured the management processes by generating management guidelines, which allowed the efficiency and effectiveness of the results.
  • Generated a permanent cultural programming scheme including all artistic areas: plastic and visual arts, music, theatre and dance, music, cultural management, history and literature.
  • Made institutional strategic alliances with: Uniandes and other universities, art galleries, museums, Film Festivals, Cultural Centers and personalities of art and culture at national and international level.
  • Developed audience building strategies resulting in an average attendance of 3000 registered people per year.
  • Produced an average of 50 exhibitions in the Espacio Alterno Gallery belonging to the Association, curating some of them.
  • Developed inter-institutional agreements with the Alma Mater and with several high level academic and cultural entities.
  • Promoted the academic program that accompanied each of the exhibitions of the Espacio Alterno Gallery, generating a didactic program for each of the exhibitions, consolidating a program of social inclusion with foundations of vulnerable groups, generating social participation through art.
  • Promoted cultural events in digital and print media in the cultural and social sections in mass media such as: El Tiempo Newspaper, Espectador, ARTERIA Newspaper, Caras Magazine; among others.
  • Organized cultural events with representatives of different Embassies and international organizations accredited to the Government of the Republic of Colombia, working together with the Association of Ibero-American Cultural Attachés. Embassies of: Canada, Egypt, Spain, Chile, Honduras, Guatemala, Eastern Republic of Uruguay, El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, Turkey, Italy, among others.
  • Supported national art and literature contests and competitions with a representative participation of artists, helping emerging artists and generating a great impact of the Institution’s participation in the community, which today are intangible heritage of the Association.

 

Superior Academy of Art of Bogota – A.S.A.B. Showroom Manager, January 1998-2000

Responsible for the direction of the Academy’s Exhibition Halls and individual and collective exhibitions. Responsible for the programming of events within the framework of each of the exhibitions.

  • Carried out 20 collective and individual exhibitions with national and international artists, with an educational program that enhanced the exhibitions.
  • Managed strategic inter-institutional alliances with other academic and cultural entities.
  • Promoted bilateral international cultural exchanges with Canada (Centre for Interactive Arts-Le Meduse-Quebec) and the Mexican Embassy (Exhibition of Chucatecan painters).
  • Initiated alternative exhibition spaces in that Institution with the cooperation of the French Embassy and its Andre Maurois Documentary Center, such as the activation of the reference library as an exhibition space.
  • Designed a program of academic interaction to the processes of the Exhibition Hall, achieving a direct participation of the students with the management of the exhibitions.
  • Generated permanent assistants for the exhibitions, through strategic alliances with the IDCT and a program for the creation of art guides.

  • Co-creator and founder of this start up dedicated to the management and interdisciplinary production of art and design.
